Karlie Kloss 60’s Inspired Graphic Liner Make-up Tutorial

How To: 6 Ways to Apply Foundation

Tools used:

No. 1:  Fingers 

Apply with clean fingers starting from the middle outward. The warmth and natural oils in our fingers aid to blend out the foundation, giving a sheer and seamless finish.

No. 2:  Stippling Brush (Real Techniques Stippling Brush)

Use in small circular motions all over face and neck until all the foundation is well buffed into the skin. This technique is best for normal to combination/oily skin. Not recommend for drier skin types because the circular motion can cause micro-exfoliation. However, in my experience if you apply a layer of foundation and begin blending it lightly and use the stippling brush just for buffing purposes and with a very light hand, it doesn’t hurt one bit.

No. 3:  Flat Foundation Brush (Body Shop Face Foundation Brush)

Apply foundation in downwards motion so hairs don’t stand up on the surface of your face. Then pat surface to get rid of streak marks. Very classic way of applying foundation that provides one of the heaviest coverages.

No. 4:  Pointed Foundation Brush and Buffing Brush (Sonia Kashuk and Real Techniques Buffing Brush)

To use this method, similar to the stippling brush, use the pointed foundation brush to lightly distribute foundation/product all over the face and neck. Then use buffing brush to buff the product in light circular motions all over the face and neck, leaving a flawless glowing look on your skin.

No. 5:  Beauty Blender/Make-up Sponge (Jellend)

The tool should be used damp because it is used to sheer out foundation and leaves a beautiful flowly finish. Use the flatter surface to bounce it gently on your face. It can be used for concealer application and also the pointy side makes it perfect  to fit into the nooks and crannies of these two parts of the face. Bieing that it goes on semi-wet feels great for dry skins!

No. 6 Powder Brush (Generic)

To use this method just sweep brush all over face to distribute product evenly all over the skin. GIves a sheer and beautiful covereage without much effort. Perfect for those who already have perfect skin or relatively clear skin.

Autumn/Fall Warm Toned Make-up Tutorial

Hey Everyone!

This look is inspired my the gorgeous colours of changing leaves signifying the arrival of Autumn or Fall. All those golden browns and rust tones! It’s a fairly easy look to achieve with a gold eyeshadow as the base, then a chocolate brown eyeliner rimming the eyes, including in the water-line with lashings of mascara! Peach blush on the cheeks and a burnt orange lipstick on the lips – patted in after application for a softer, more modern finish. Reese Witherspoon Inspired Purple Haze Make-up Tutorial

Reese Witherspoon’s sexy smokey purple eyes and soft pink lips were so fresh, and it is this look I drew inspiration from. My version of the look is with cool toned purples creating a soft haze of colour around the eyes, but in keeping Reese’s look. A winning combo! Mocha Brown Eyes and Berry Lips Make-Up Tutorial

My inspiration for this look is around this deep fuchsia pout. I think this is a perfect transitional color for Autumn (welcome September!) It is still bright, but has a depth we love to see around this time of year as lips get darker – the darker the better, right? This is also a tutorial is also for those who prefer a lighter lip option, but still want a enriched colour. Paired with mocha smudged around the eyes – I think it’s perfect for the change of season.
